Imazon and Google invite you to participate in a hands-on technical training on Earth Engine for the Amazon, to
be held on November 8-10, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The goals of this workshop are to:
- Present tools from Google and Imazon for crowdmapping to monitor deforestation and forest degradation in the Pan-Amazonia region, including Imazon's Deforestation Alert System, powered by Google Earth Engine, Google Android smartphones and Open Data Kit (ODK).
- Identify potential organizations and individuals interested in crowdmapping and/or crowdsourcing verification of remote sensing derived products.
- Define strategic actions to scale up forest monitoring and verification using Google Earth Engine and open source data collection technology.
